Sports in Cadiz
Football
Cadiz has an impressive football team that was founded in 1910. They play in the Estadio Ramón de Carranza, which has with a capacity of 22,000. The club was known as the yellow submarine for a brief period because they had an uncanny talent of making sure they remained in the top division during the 80s and 90s. The fans are known as some of the most passionate of all Spain and this was recognized in 2006 as Real Madrid awarded them for being the best fans to visit their stadium.
Bullfighting
As with many other places throughout Spain, bullfighting is an important part of the local culture in Cadiz. This can certainly can be seen with the displays of talent in Cadiz. If you are interested in one of the oldest and most traditional displays of competition then you are sure to find a great match in the nearby destinations of Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Algeciras.
Leisure Sports
If you're looking to do a bit of physical activity yourself, Cadiz is an excellent leisure sports destination. Some sports available to you whilst in Cadiz are watersports and golf. Watersports, such as windsurfing, flysurfing and sailing, are very popular due to Cadiz's excellent coastal location. There are some wonderful golf courses that will impress even the veteran players; some of the best clubs include Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and the San Roque Club.
