Writers
- Luis Garcia Montero- A 20th century poet known for living his life in the fast lane, especially during his younger years. He went on to major in philosophy at the University of Granada. His poetry has been noted as reflecting everyday situations which really reflected his unique character.
- Angel Ganivet- Spanish writer born in 1865. His studies as a youngster seemed to attract attention, notably when he posted a doctorate in 1888 which won special prizes. He also developed a relationship with Miguel de Unamuno. Some of his work includes Granada la Bella and Cartas Finlandesas.
- Federico Garcia Lorca- Excellent poet and one of the important writers of the generation of 27, Lorca had a life doused in turmoil with his inner battles that mixed with his continued success as a poet. He had a close relationship with Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel so he was also immersed into the surrealist scene. His work includes Libro de poemas, Llanto por Ignacion Sánchez Mejías, Canción de jinete, La casa de Bernarda Alba and Bodas de sangre.
- Rafael Guillen- won a prize for literature in 1994, his work helped reshape the `poet atmosphere after the civil war, his work quickly attracted attention. He tackles some heavy issues such as love and some of his work includes 'Estado de Palabra and La Configuración de lo Perdido'.
- Francisco Ayala- Writer born in 1906 who travelled to work in several locations, such as Berlin and South America. He wrote during a long period of time, at first with an Avant-Garde style. His works include Cazador en el alba, El as de Bastos and El problema del liberalismo.
- Fray Luis de Granada- Spanish Dominican writer. Born in 1505 he was from a poor background and went on to have over forty years of successful and brilliant pieces of work. His work focused on issues such as ethics and church history and his writings attracted fans such as Louis of Leon. One of his notable pieces includes The Sinner's Guide.
