Introduction

Whenever you head down towards Pamplona you will always find yourself with a host of activities that make you time as enjoyable as possible, though it doesnt have to end there as there are some great festivals around Pamplona and especially the running of the bulls that give the unique character that is integrated into the culture and history.

  • San Blas: It is a celebration which involves dancers and street entertainers, people walk along the streets with a huge statue of San Fermín, Each year it brings at least a million spectators per year. It is infact this festival that introduces the running out of the bulls which is known world wide.
  • Festival punto de vista:It is the festival that has been named in dedication of one of the original directors in the 1930s Vigo who was the first to use the "documented point of view" form of film making, it is a film documentary festival.
  • Semana santa: this is the period of easter where the religious aspect kicks in where the council dresses up and processions take place.
  • Privilege of the union: this is for uniting of the three parts of the city, mass is held in the cathedral
  • San fermin of Aldapa: Celebrates the life of Saint Fermin who was Pamplona born eld in september it was moved to July so most of the summer weather can be appreciated in it.
  • San Cernin: A celebration for the life of saint san cernin who was one of the first to baptise christians in Pamplona
  • Olentzero: He is basically the character in the basque area of spain who acts as santa claus on december 24th which is the three kings in the other areas of Spain.
