Introduction

When in Sevilla the nightlife focuses on making sure you have a good time, so whether that means discoteca until 7am or you fancy a relaxed dirnk with tapas you will certainly be covered here. For the right areas you generally can't go wrong by heading towards La Marcha where there is an abundance of activity. So if you want to kick things off with a cheap ice cold beer then the place for you is El Tremendo, it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing but you will have a real bargain with a decent crowd.

Another alternate twist to things 'La llustre Victima' with a mix of Moroccan food and a mixed crowd that always has an excitable atmosphere. One of the interesting places for dance music is the 'weekend house club with a mix of transvestites and great Djs to really mix things up. Another option is a bar called boss with its four bars that you will need to dress smartly though it will pay off with the great mix of people. Though if you really feel in the dancing mood then Simpecao a flamenco bar with a relaxed yet improvised place.

Museums

  • Fine art museum- first founded in 1839 with some great pieces of work including el greco, velazquez and valdés leal. With its vast collection of work up until the 20th century where it has earnt itself a great reputation.
  • Popular arts and customs museum- Created in 1929 it name certainly fits into its descirption as it alwys draws in crowds with collections of tradititonal Andalucian pottery and items that will develop your understanding of the culture.
  • Contemporary art- With a wide range of renowned artist's work within the walls such as the sculptors of Juan Muñoz it has the contemporary museum integrating into it in 1994 bringing with it a large collection of 20th century.
  • Archeological museum- This Neo-renaissance styled building has been the home to the artifacts since 1941 with pieces from prehistoric, Roman and arabic art. It contains the famous 'Tesoro del Carambolo' a rare piece of Tartessos gold jewellery.


Theatre and music

  • Teatro de la Maestranza- the opera house first opened its doors in 1991 and includes many performances of the spanish themed Zarzuela.
  • Teatro Lope de Vega- Its construction dates back much further than the prior, all the way back to 199 with famous visiters including Alfonso XIII. It has a baroque feel that radiates through the architecture though it had problems from 1936 with fires and floods. Now it serves as an important culture sight for the city.
